This site has a lot on it, and almost none of it matters to you today. What matters is the grade your athlete is in, an honest read on where they actually stand, and real numbers on what four years of college will cost your family. If you do only one thing, scroll to your athlete’s grade and open the tool listed beside it. The goal here is bigger than a scholarship: an athlete with options — of school, of level, of major, and of what college costs. Families who prepare get choices. Families who wait take what’s left.
Every family asks these in the same order, and the order matters — you cannot plan the money until you know the level, and you cannot know the level until somebody tells you the truth about the athlete.
Not to discourage anybody. These are the numbers that make the difference between a plan built on how recruiting actually works and one built on how it looks on social media.

Figures are national averages across all divisions and vary widely by sport and by school. Verify anything that affects a financial decision with the individual program and its financial aid office.
Each track lists the two or three things that actually move the needle in that year, and the tool to open first. If your athlete is between grades in the summer, read the year they are heading into.
