The Athlete Scorecard

Ten categories college coaches actually evaluate. Grade each one from 1 to 5 and it is worth up to 10 points — 100 in all. No hype, no flattery, just an honest picture of where your athlete stands today and exactly what would move the number up.

Most services grade an athlete’s potential. We grade the things a family can still control.

STEP 1
Grade honestly

Score each category as it is today, not as you hope it will be. An inflated scorecard is worthless.

STEP 2
Read the priorities

Your three lowest categories become the work list. Fix those before adding anything else.

STEP 3
Re-score every 90 days

Progress you can see keeps an athlete working. Print it and compare against last quarter.

The Ten Categories

Ten categories, ten points each. A grade of 3 is worth 6 points, a 5 is worth 10. That is the whole formula.

GATE WARNING

A gate category — academics, film, or eligibility — scored a 1 or 2. Whatever the composite says, fix that first. These three can end a recruitment on their own.

YOUR NEXT THREE PRIORITIES

Your three lowest categories. Gates break any tie, because they can end a recruitment on their own.

Three categories are gates, not scores.

Academics, film, and eligibility work differently from the rest. They are worth the same ten points as everything else, but a 1 or 2 in any of them can end a recruitment no matter how strong the other seven are—a coach who can’t get an athlete admitted stops calling, a coach who can’t evaluate film never starts, and an athlete who isn’t cleared can’t play at all. Fix those first, always.

What this scorecard is not.

It is not a prediction, a ranking, or a promise of any division level. It measures preparation, not talent—and preparation is the part your family still controls. A 92 does not guarantee an offer, and a 48 does not end anything.
