Coach Email Templates
Written by the Athlete. Every Time.
College coaches get hundreds of emails a week. The ones that get answered are short, specific, and clearly written by the athlete—not the parent. Use these templates as a starting point, then make every one personal to the school. A generic mass email is worse than no email at all.
Five rules before you hit send
1. The athlete writes and sends it — from the athlete’s own email address.
2. Name the school and something specific about the program. Prove it isn’t a mass email.
3. Film link goes near the top. Coaches evaluate first and read second.
4. Include grades and test scores. Academics decide who a coach can actually recruit.
5. Keep it under 200 words. Always close with a clear next step.
